Avowed Cigar Company was founded in 2024, with their first three lines launching in early 2025. The company's name is an adjective meaning "that which has been asserted, admitted, or stated publicly," with their motto being "equal parts mandate and declaration." Avowed was built by the Maxamar Ultimate Cigars team out of Orange, CA (best known for their online storefront, Small Batch Cigar), with Andrew Considine and David West taking the lead on the project. The company debuted with three lines—The Vow, New Dawn, and Awakening—each being rolled out of Klaas Kelner’s Kelner Cigars, S.A.S. factory, which opened in Santiago, DR in 2023.
