Awakening

The Awakening cigar was one of three lines introduced by Avowed Cigar Co. in 2025, touting expert craftsmanship from Klaas Pieter Kelner's boutique-minded Kelner Cigars, S.A.S. factory in Santiago, DR. The cigar was the only limited release of the three, being crafted in a single 5½" x 52 gran robusto format and limited to 2,000 boxes of 10 cigars. The blend centers around an extinct wrapper—an Ecuadorian hybrid leaf dubbed capa marron—which was last grown roughly a decade before the cigar's release. This leaf surrounds an Ecuadorian Habano binder and fillers of Piloto Cubano, San Vicente, Criollo '98, and Pennsylvania.
