After working for General Cigar for more than 20 years—most notably taking the role of blender/ambassador for CAO—Rick Rodriguez left the company in 2022 to form West Tampa Tobacco Company. West Tampa debuted with a pair of Habano-wrapped cigars: White and Black. Both cigars are rolled out of the little-known Garmendia Cigar Co. factory in Nicaragua, with the West Tampa Tobacco Black taking on a fuller smoking profile.
