The Maestranza cigar from RoMa Craft first appeared in the summer of 2024 under a different size and name: CRAFT Maquette La Maestranza. After testing the waters with the limited edition, the company launched the regular version that fall. The cigars are named after a term used by Francis Mallmann in an early episode of Chef's Table, which was described as meaning "the people who are around you helping." For RoMa Craft, this refers to the individuals who have contributed to the success of both RoMa Craft Tobac and the Nica Sueño factory over the years. Blend-wise, the Maestranza marks the second core-line offering to feature a Mexican San Andrés wrapper (the other being the Neanderthal). This leaf features a darker rosado shade, which RoMa Craft considers akin to the Spanish Market Selection designation of old. It surrounds a Brazilian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
