The Umbagog Bronzeback cigar from Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust offers a subtle tweak on the 2017 original Umbagog line, said to be an homage to the Henry Clay cigars from the 1980s and 1990s. The original Umbagog is a derivative of the company's Mi Querida line, using lower-grade wrappers that didn't make the sorting cut. With Umbagog Bronzeback, the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper uses a 2LS leaf priming, described as being "situated between the 1/3 to 1/2 mark on the stalk." This differs from the Medium/#1 Dark Connecticut Broadleaf of the original Umbagog, offering "a slightly less sweet, but significantly more peppery smoking experience." The cigar debuted in 2024 with a single Rothschild format, making use of a similar all-Nicaraguan binder/filler compared to the original.
