Crowned Heads' annual TAA release began in 2014 with The Angel’s Anvil, with the name being a clever play on the TAA acronym. These cigars were rolled out of E.P. Carrillo's Dominican factory annually through 2019, where Crowned Heads pivoted the project to a prequel story: The Lost Angel. These cigars were rolled in Nicaragua by Tabacalera Pichardo for 2021 and 2022. But with the two entities (CH and Pichardo) cutting ties in 2022, the 2023 edition moved back to Carrillo's operation. The Lost Angel 2023 cigar uses a unique hybrid wrapper (Ecuadorian Sumatra hybrid C9), being joined by an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
