Romeo y Julieta Badge

Romeo y Julieta was first officially recognized by its Shakespearean name in 1875, making it among the world's oldest continuously operating cigar brands. Founded by Inocencio Alvarez and Manin García, the brand rose to prominence by the turn of the 20th century. Romeo's first changing of hands occurred in 1903, where José "Pepin" Rodriguez Fernández promoted the cigar on a global scale. Like so many other legacy brands of the era, Romeo y Julieta departed its Cuban roots during the Cuban Revolution of the late '50s, today being split between Cuban and non-Cuban manufacturers/ownership. The latter is primarily based in the Dominican Republic, though the RyJ label occasionally makes its way into Nicaragua and Honduras as well. Now produced in a wide variety of smoking profiles for a range of preferences, the Romeo y Julieta badge offers a dynamic journey, with each check-in contributing to the cigar hobbyist's climb through progressive tiers of RyJ recognition and expertise.
