Davidoff reinvented the Zino brand by partnering with the Arnell Group to create Zino Platinum. The first release, the Crown Series, was of high quality, but with eye-popping prices of up to nearly $40 a cigar. The introduction of the lower-priced Scepter Series brought the prices down into the teens. The best of the line is the Chubby Tubos, a tubed perfecto measuring just under five inches with a 54 ring gauge at its fattest point. It’s a rewarding smoke, with notes of coffee, cocoa and nuts, and a pleasant chewy flavor. All in all, I highly recommend

When you smoke a cigar from Henke Kelner, there is a signature flavor profile that doesn’t exist here, so it is obvious Jr. is off to do his own thing and not follow in the blueprint his father has laid out before him. The Smoking Jacket is a wonderfully complex cigar that doesn’t taste Dominican. It was so intriguingly delicious that I can’t wait to try out the other sizes and see where Kelner Boutique Factory takes us. I can easily see this cigar making my year end list of top cigars.

The AVO Improvisation Limited Edition 2021 is a perfect example of what I love from AVO cigars. A complex, yet balanced experience with unique, raw flavors at a affordable price tag. Yes, affordable. I put most AVO cigars up there with the likes of Opus, Davidoff, and Padron and at $16 a pop for such a long smoking cigar I would call this an affordable super-premium cigar. This is a great stick to have around when you are looking for something that will last you a while yet still deliver the experience you are craving.

At first glance this cigar should not be a part of a brand called Strong and Free. The creamy Shade wrapper screams mild cigar but it is hiding a big secret. The core of this cigar was designed to surprise you with its double Dominican Ligero and aged Dominican Filler. Highly recommend if you can happen to find one.
