The Undercrown Barrel Fermented cigar soft launched around the 2016 timeframe, being offered through online retailer Thompson Cigar. The blend was based on the Undercrown Maduro, though it included barrel-fermented leaves (similar to the Pappy Van Winkle Barrel Fermented), as well as swapping the Mexican maduro wrapper of the original for a dual-toned cover leaf that changed from light to dark passing the cigar's band.
