With Steamboat Willie's (the character that would become Mickey Mouse) copyright expiring in January of 2024, brands from any and all industries rushed to utilize the character in ways that were unthinkable for the hundred years prior. In the cigar industry, it was the LCA that capitalized on the concept, releasing the Steamboat cigar later that year. The blend was Nicaraguan puro, featuring a nondescript Nicaraguan core that was secured in a double binder of Jalapa Corojo and Cuban-seed Corojo from Nicaragua. Finally, the cigars used "an ultra-rare Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper," being rolled in a 6" x 50 toro format and limited to 20,000 cigars.
