Since 1904, pirates have been invading Tampa and throwing a large festival called Gasparilla. Beginning in 2022, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. has brought both traditions together by introducing José Gaspar cigars. The inaugural release was rolled in a 7" x 50 format and limited to 2,000 packs of five cigars. José Gaspar 2022 used an Ecuadorian Havana-seed wrapper and undisclosed fillers, being sold only in the Tampa region.
