The Angel Cuesta Shade cigar was released in 2024, being a limited followup to J.C. Newman's former reimagined take on the Angel Cuesta line. Like the Angel Cuesta—which was first made by Angel LaMadrid Cuesta in the early 20th century—the Angel Cuesta Shade featured the same contemporary branding and American craftsmanship, coming out of the Newman's renovated El Reloj factory in Ybor City. The cigars were rolled in a 6" x 52 toro size, featuring a Nicaraguan Shade wrapper and undisclosed binder/fillers. At launch, the cigars were only made available through a 10-count sampler (which were limited to 500), being joined by a handful of other blends out of the El Reloj factory.
