First introduced in 2016 as a limited edition, the Santa Muerte cigar saw annual releases from 2016 through 2019, as well as a darker-wrapped variation dubbed Santa Muerte Barrio Santo. In 2023, the BLTC Santa Muerte became a regular line within the company's portfolio, touting an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper/binder, with fillers from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico (San Andrés). To help differentiate the releases, limited versions of Santa Muerte use a black band, while the regular production swaps this for a primarily white band.
