Black Label Trading Company introduced the Santa Muerte cigar in 2016 as a limited project. The line subsequently returned in 2017, 2018, and 2019, as well as a spinoff dubbed Santa Muerte Barrio Santo. The cigars featured an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and binder over a filler of Nicaraguan, Dominican, Mexican, and US Broadleaf tobaccos. Santa Muerte expanded to become a core line for BLTC in 2023, swapping the traditional black band for an inverted white label.
