The series was Oscar's first widely distributed line, debuting in 2012 and playing off the foretold end of the world, as interpreted from the Mayan calendar's end date of Dec. 21, 2012. With the 2012 by Oscar Sumatra, the line expands to include a Sumatra-wrapped variation, showcasing an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Honduran binder, and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua.
