Lure Cigars unveiled The Jolly Walleye for the 2024 holiday season, drawing inspiration from the Walleye pike—a favorite dish of Lou Cross Jr. during cherished Friday night fish fry gatherings with the Cross family. The cigar’s name pays homage to these memorable family traditions, a fitting nod from Lou Cross III, founder of Lure Cigars, who established the company as a tribute to his late father. The Jolly Walleye was rolled in a 5½" x 52 robusto extra format, featuring a Habano 2000 wrapper from Nicaragua, a binder from Ometepe, and fillers from the Nicaraguan regions of Estelí, Jalapa, and Ometepe. The cigars were limited to 300 bundles of 10 robusto extras, and were said to embody the sweet and savory treats enjoyed around the holidays.
