The Hoffman House cigar is the house blend of Chicago retailer Iwan Ries & Company. First crafted in 1861 by Edward Hoffman, the Hoffman House cigar became famous for its blend of fine tobaccos and its packaging featuring Bouguereau's famed Nymphs and Satyr painting. The brand gained popularity but faded into obscurity by the 1920s. Revived in 2006, the Hoffman House cigar now features an Ecuadorian sun-grown wrapper, a Dominican binder, and fillers from Nicaragua and Peru. The original artwork has been restored, honoring its prestigious past and evoking memories of the historic Hoffman House bar frequented by notable figures like President Grover Cleveland and Buffalo Bill Cody.
